Luke Combs is an American country music singer and songwriter who was born on March 2, 1990, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He grew up in Asheville, North Carolina and started singing and playing guitar in high school. Combs moved to Nashville, Tennessee after graduating from Appalachian State University, and began pursuing a career in country music.

In 2014, Combs independently released his first EP, "The Way She Rides." He gained popularity after the release of his single "Hurricane" in 2016, which went on to be certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
